PRO Housing Grant
MTC has received federal funding to support regional goals to produce and preserve affordable housing.
The Pathways to Removing Obstacles to Housing (PRO Housing) grant program seeks to empower communities that are actively taking steps to remove barriers to affordable housing and increase housing production. The grant, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), provides funding to help metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs) and other government entities identify and remove barriers to affordable housing production and preservation.
As the Bay Area’s MPO, MTC — in partnership with the Bay Area Housing Finance Authority (BAHFA), VTA and BART — will use these grant funds to support implementation of MTC’s new Priority Sites pilot program, which will provide technical assistance and funding for regionally-significant, locally-nominated sites that advance the affordability, climate and equity goals of Plan Bay Area.
