Officials from MTC and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District joined with electric vehicle (EV) enthusiasts, EV entrepreneurs, representatives of auto manufacturers and the media on May 13, 2014, to kick off the "Experience Electric" campaign, which will bring EVs to the people, and let them get behind the wheels of the latest models at some 20 venues around the Bay Area over the next several months. The venue for the kick-off event was the Lucious Garage in San Francisco's SOMA, which caters to electric and hybrid vehicles. A highlight of the evening was a live art demo in which a graffiti artist spray-painted a specially wrapped Nissan LEAF with a a green scene.
